Jim Gallant
Jim has never failed to capture the hearts and feet of his audience. His up-tempo guitar style, mix of catchy originals and masterful interpretations of contemporary music leaves his audience feeling fully satisfied. Whether he's finger-picking a Celtic jig, a Bach fugue or a New Age instrumental, his distinctive style has won him both applause and accolades. An accomplished songwriter, his original compositions have brought him awards and high honors throughout the country. A few years ago he was commissioned along with five other Maine artists to record a Christmas album for LL. Bean. His versatility and skill as a performer has made him a natural opening act for such nationally recognized artists as Doc Watson, Taj Mahal, Livingston Taylor, Jessie Colin Young, Dave Von Ronk, Mark Collie, The New Grass Revival, The Shaw Brothers and Bill Staines. His down to earth sense of humor permeates throughout his shows and along with his mastery of fingerstyle guitar and warm rich vocals, makes for an evening you won't soon forget.

Inanna,
Sisters in Rhythm, is a percussion and vocal ensemble that
explores the heritage and rhythms of West Africa, through
original arrangements and compositions invoking ancient traditions
of the drum. Inanna was originally created by the participants
of a drum class in Alna, Maine almost sixteen years ago. Since
that time, Inanna has recorded and released four, full-length
albums and has performed at numerous percussion festivals
and community events. Inanna is deeply dedicated to the education
and cultivation of peace and sharing among cultures through
the power of music.
The ensemble plays African percussion instruments such as
the Djembe, Kpanlogo, Doundounba, Kenkeni and Sangba, and
other hand-crafted percussion instruments such as the Balafon
(an African Xylophone), rainsticks, kalimba (thumb piano),
shekeres and a variety of bells and other small instruments.
The ensemble recently added frame drums which are found in
almost every culture and are the ancient instrument of women
drummers.
