Fiddlehead Youth Rock Band Camp

Open to musicians who are between the ages of
12 - 17 as of July 1, 2008.


Rock band camp is an energetic, hands-on experience for those who want to learn what it’s like to be in a rock band. Campers will work with the instruments that make rock music unique (keyboard, guitar, percussion) while they explore the dynamics and thrill of being in a band. Instruction is geared toward intermediate ability level. Start playing music on the first day, and by the end of the week you will be rocking out in a live performance! Space is limited to 16 students.

ASPERGER’S SUMMER CAMP
Social Skill Development

Elementary Program
For children aged 6-11 years.
$400 per person


Campers are given many opportunities to practice their social skills during structured lessons and other art/theater activities. Counselors use a combination of visual structure and behavioral strategies to help campers experience success during camp activities. A different social skill is presented each day. Examples of daily social skills are: greetings, compliments, emotions, appropriate play, and choosing a topic for a conversation.

Explore a variety of art forms in this fun multi-media class. Painting, drawing, print making, paper mache and more! This class can be taken in conjuction with
the Fairy House camp for a

Students will use their imaginations to
design and create a collaborative Fairy House in our backyard and the
opportunity to create their own portable house of recycled materials.

Wizardry of Chemistry

Students will be inspired by the nature of the Maine Wildlife Park in Gray during daily visits to produce color studies. The studies will be used as

Students will learn acting skills and techniques such as stage presence & movement, characterization using tone of voice, character voices & body language. Learn the technical side of theater. We will cover skills such as set design and building, costuming and lighting. The camp will culminate with a performance for

Anime is a stylized Japanese comic book art form. Students will create their own
Anime fantasy characters and creatures.

A chance to be fascinated by nature, students in this class will explore the world around us all. We will look at a variety of miracles in nature from rocks and crystals, to the world of plants, to creeping and crawling creatures. Students will set up an aquarium, observe and care for creatures, and experience the beauty in nature.

Sculpted Clay Heads

Students will explore sculptural clay
techniques to form a portrait head.
They will learn to form the sculpture by adding clay to an individually created armeture using self hardening clay. They will paint and decorate the final piece.
