About Us
Our Facility
If you have never seen our facility we invite you to come and explore. When you open the doors, you will feel the love and positive energy that has been poured into our operation by our community. With a beautiful inside courtyard and sky light with natural light streaming in we have built an environment ready to create a community of thinkers. Our Kindergarten program will offer many onsite rooms for the children to explore with their teacher. From the largest clay studio north of Portland, an expansive performing arts room for theater and dance, to individual studios for both art and science – children will awaken their curiosities.
Our History
Fiddlehead was co-founded in 2002 by Jacinda J. Cotton – Castro. With a vision and love for art, culture and the sciences, Fiddlehead brings to our region classes for students of all ages. Our growth sustains our mission through creativity, discovery and pure fun. Fiddlehead provides access to quality enrichment programs, helping us each to grow in art, science and cultural exploration.
In 2007, Fiddlehead purchased and renovated our current home at 25 Shaker Road in Gray. We continuously reach out to support many of the surrounding communities’ needs for after-school arts and science programs for children in grades Pre K-12. Students from the surrounding communities of New Gloucester, Windham, Pownal, Poland, Casco, Raymond, Freeport, Poland Springs, North Yarmouth, Yarmouth, Raymond, Auburn, Lewiston and Cumberland attend classes. Educational classes are also offered for adults interested in the arts and wellness. Fiddlehead Art & Science Center is a non-profit organization relying on private funding and donations.
